Fire and Ice Come Together in Co-op Puzzle Platformer ‘Degrees of Separation’ Reveal Trailer

Modus Games revealed a new co-op puzzle platformer from indie developer Moondrop called Degrees of Separation, coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC-via Steam on February 14.

Degrees of Separation is a co-op adventure game, which can also be played solo. The game stars Ember and Rime, two characters with the power to manipulate heat and cold, respectively, and must attempt to get closer together, against all odds. The game uses themes of closeness and separation to execute unique puzzle design and environments to push the players to utilize all the powers that Ember and Rime gain over their journey.

Additionally, the game is written by Chris Avellone who has worked on Neverwinter Nights 2 and Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance.

The publisher released a new trailer showing the main characters and a preview of the many different puzzles the duo will encounter. Also showing the game’s non-linear level design which allows the player to use different paths to get through areas.

Author’s take: A co-op game on Valentines is perfect…if you have a Valentine. That aside, this game’s puzzles look like they get super interesting which makes me want to try my hand in it.
