Deckbuilding Roguelike ‘Phantom Rose 2 Sapphire’ Announces October 2023 PC Release Date

Playism announced that the makaroll-developed deckbuilding roguelike Phantom Rose 2 Sapphire will launch for PC via Steam on October 30, 2023.

Players will control the new protagonist Aria as she tries to regain her lost memories and escape the Marion Magic Academy which has become infested with phantoms. You can choose to play as the more straightforward Blade Class, while the new Mage Class introduces the Arcana mechanic. It’s a resource that’s spent as attack cards are used but recovered as certain cards are played. The Class essentially requires a balanced approach to defense and offense.

Players can anticipate over 200 cards to collect, unique sets of cards per Class, multiple endings, Adventure, Arcade, and Custom modes, and artwork by the developer themself.

makaroll shared the following message to prospective players:

“Hello, I’m makaroll, the developer and artist of Phantom Rose 2 Sapphire. My aim is to create an attractive single-player game that caters to both the fans of the previous title and newcomers trying it for the first time.

With an improved gameplay content and an expanded storyline centered around the new protagonist Aria, I sincerely hope the game can become an endearing title in your game collection. Whether you’re a seasoned veteran or a fresh enthusiast of the roguelike deckbuilding genre, please look forward to a new adventure. Thank you.”
