Matthias Linda posted an update on the Chained Echoes Kickstarter to alert backers that the game now has a publisher for digital distribution, Deck 13. Known for developing games such as The Surge series and publishing titles such as Cross Code, Deck 13 will be assisting the developer with QA, localization, and distribution.
The team jumped into action after the deal was finalized and launched the Steam store for the game, with a launch date planned for Q4 2021. Also, the game is currently running on Switch hardware after the developer met with Nintendo representatives. IN a future update, the developer plans to show off some of the mechs in the game.
Chained Echoes is a love letter JRPG that pays homage to classic SNES style RPGs. The game is set in a fantasy world full of dragons and mechs as players travel with a group of heroes throughout the continent of Valandis. The quest is fueled by the desire to end the war between three kingdoms, which isn’t going to be easy.
The game features a turn-based battle system and over 20 hours of gameplay. There are no random encounters in the game as enemies are seen on the map. Also, players will be able to customize their own airship along with the character’s skills and equipment.
Chained Echoes is in development for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
