City Connection released a new trailer for the Cave-developed shmup collection Deathsmiles I & II, coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on December 16 in Japan.
The developer shares that a physical release will be available for PS4 and Switch, with support for multiple languages including English, Japanese, French, and Spanish. The game will also launch with DLC through a collaboration with the mobile shmup RPG Gothic wa Mahou Otome, where players can play through the campaign as Cattleya, Plumeria, Ranun, Souffle, and Rosalie in specific modes. The new characters have been balanced for the Deathsmiles campaign.
Further, players will find an online leaderboard sharing all the top scores along with a training mode to become better adept with the stages.
By going to the publisher’s website you can get a preview of the different editions available including the Love Max EditionWith comes with the DLC, collector’s box, and rearranged soundtrack.
The new trailer highlights the remastered gameplay and shows off some of the character scenes and shmup action. It’s definitely one of those games that you had to play but was released on Xbox 360 in the west so you may have missed it. Additionally, Deathsmiles 2 was never released localized in the west.
