Death Stranding Reveals Cyberpunk 2077 Crossover Adding New Missions Exclusive to PC Version

505 Games announced that Death Stranding has launched a crossover with the CD Projekt Red-developed Cyberpunk 2077.

This crossover event is exclusive to the PC version of the game and adds new missions and several unlockable equipment items, including:

  • Cyberpunk 2077 themed Reverse Trike vehicle.
  • “Johnny Arm” modeled after Johnny Silverhand’s robotic arm that can be equipped and used in game.
  • New holograms and a “Trauma Team” floating vehicle hologram for certain constructions.
  • Several fashion items including Johnny Silverhand’s sunglasses.

Additionally, a new Hacking function has been add that lets Sam Bridges target enemy machines and apply negative status effects to them. Players are able to stop Mule sensor poles from activated for a period of time, stun enemy Odradeks, and short out the electronics in Mule trucks.

Death Stranding was initially revealed back in 2016. The game marks Kojima’s first major project since he left Konami, and unfortunately, leaving the Metal Gear Solid series behind. Since its reveal, Kojima has been releasing more information about the game, but there is still much to be discussed. Set in the future, players assume the role of Sam Porter Bridges played by Norman Reedus.

The game follows his quest through a strange world inhabited by otherworldly entities and the constant haunting of the past. The element that connects him to the world are found in babies, but even they have an expiration date. Where this game takes the player is anyone’s guess, but we are eagerly awaiting the adventure.
