Death Stranding Achieves 16 Million Players Worldwide

Kojima Productions has announced that their story adventure game Death Stranding has over 16 million players worldwide. A new graphic was shared to commemorate this feat. This number likely applies to a coalesced total of both the original Death Stranding and Death Stranding Director’s Cut.

Check out our review of Death Stranding Director’s Cut’s PC version.

Death Stranding Director’s Cut has been enhanced and built from the ground up to take advantage of the PS5. In addition, the developers intend to draw you ever closer into the world of Death Stranding by adding haptic feedback from the Dualsense controller.

Throughout Death Stranding, players control protagonist Sam Porter, played by Norman Reedus. Set in a post-apocalyptic world where hostile BTs roam the land, Sam acts as a beacon of hope and connection for individuals spread across fragmented societies. The unique gameplay involves plenty of walking, with several involved mechanics imbuing the practice with depth. It’s undoubtedly quintessential Kojima.
