Deadly Premonition 2 Announced for Switch; Original Title Available Now Digitally
Rising Star Games announce that Toybox Inc. will develop Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise to release on Nintendo Switch in 2020.
Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise is said to be an open-world game set in the town of Le Carré. The game will visit many locations throughout, starting in Boston where FBI Agent Francis York Morgan returns to a case that he assumed was solved in 2005. Throughout the game, players will experience events that occurred in 2005 and 2019 as they piece together murders and mysterious crimes.
The game will be directed and written by Hidetaka “Swery” Suehiro, who states, “Roughly 10 years have passed since the original was released in 2010. Now, a miracle has happened, and I have a chance to reunite with my best friend—something I never thought would be possible.”
“After completing the Director’s Cut, Swery and I discussed in-depth about the ways we could continue the world of Deadly Premonition. In reaching here, we shared some laughter together and at times quarreled, but we persisted with our voyage and I am thrilled that we finally made it to this point,” said Toybox COO and producer Tomio Kanazawa.
“Only a few games have managed to stir up emotions the way the original Deadly Premonition did,” says Brjánn Sigurgeirsson of Rising Star Games. “Ten years later we’re literally thrilled to continue down this path to find out where Swery and his team take us.”
Additionally, the original Deadly Premonition is available now on Switch as Deadly Premonition Origins. A physical release of the title will be published by Aksys Games in November.
