Dead Cells – The Animated Series Announced for 2024; Ten 7-Minute Long Episodes

The Evil Empire and Motion Twin studios have announced that their hit action roguelike Dead Cells will receive an animated adaptation titled Dead Cells – The Animated Series.

The following information was provided:

“Made of course by Bobbypills, the French studio behind our animated trailers, the show takes place on (surprise, surprise) a cursed island that has been racked by a strange plague. After the island’s foolish king develops a remedy that ends up turning the population into monstrous creatures, prophecies depicting a flame-headed hero who will kill the crazy King begin to appear.

As it so happens, this beheaded hero is real, but saving a kingdom isn’t on his schedule and he just wants to be left alone. Well, guess who isn’t going to be left alone…

Co-produced by the also French anime streaming service Animation Digital Network (ADN), the 10, roughly seven-minute long episodes will initially be exclusive to France before being made available worldwide.”

In this new content, players can enjoy a new storyline where Richter Belmont approaches The Beheaded following the appearance of Dracula’s castle. 14 iconic weapons, including Holy Water, are useable alongside two biomes in the castle. Moreover, 51 Castlevania tunes and 12 remixed in the Dead Cells style will be implemented. This is also stated to be the biggest piece of added content for the title.

Dead Cells is an action roguelike where players enter various Biomes to defeat mobs of enemies. Many boss encounters will put the player’s skills to the test. It is currently available on many platforms, including Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox, iOS, Android, and PC via Microsoft Windows and Steam.

The game has sold over ten million units worldwide.
