Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania DLC Releasing for Switch & PlayStation August 2023; 2 Physical Editions
Merge Games, Konami, and Motion Twin have announced that Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania will receive a physical retail release for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 on August 11, 2023.
Available for pre-order today, the standard edition features reversible cover art hearkening to the NES and PlayStation eras, and the Deluxe Signature Edition includes the following:
- Standard copy of the game with retro reversible cover unique to Switch and Playstation
- Unique Signature Edition outer sleeves
- Alternative disc soundtrack featuring 28 original Castlevania tunes reimagined in a Dead Cells style
- Collection of 4 enamel pins
- Exclusive art book
- 5 snapshot photos souvenirs of the Beheaded in Castlevania
- Lenticular castle card
- 4 ‘Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania’ postcards featuring printed signatures
- Special edition collectors box
All physical releases will also feature the Rise of the Giant, The Bad Seed, Fatal Falls, The Queen and the Sea DLCs plus 34 more free updates.

In this new content, players can enjoy a new storyline where Richter Belmont approaches The Beheaded following the appearance of Dracula’s castle. 14 iconic weapons, including Holy Water, are useable alongside two biomes in the castle. Moreover, 51 Castlevania tunes and 12 remixed in the Dead Cells style will be implemented. This is also stated to be the biggest piece of added content for the title.
Dead Cells is an action roguelike where players enter various Biomes to defeat mobs of enemies. Many boss encounters will put the player’s skills to the test. It is currently available on many platforms, including Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox, iOS, Android, and PC via Microsoft Windows and Steam.
