Dead Cells Releasing for PS5 This Week, Featuring Haptic Feedback & Adaptive Trigger Support; Free PS4 Upgrade

Evil Empire and Motion Twin have announced that their beloved action rogue-like, Dead Cells, will launch natively for PlayStation 5 on June 29, 2023, for $24.99. The game will also be free for PlayStation Plus Extra tier subscribers and be a free upgrade for those who own the title on PlayStation 4.

The PlayStation 5 release will feature haptic feedback and adaptive trigger support alongside additional lights and sound effect incorporation via the DualSense controller.

“…the DualSense controller pushes back if you try to use an item that’s on cooldown, providing a smart assist so you can switch up strategies to combat oncoming enemies.”

In this new content, players can enjoy a new storyline where Richter Belmont approaches The Beheaded following the appearance of Dracula’s castle. 14 iconic weapons, including Holy Water, are useable alongside two biomes in the castle. Moreover, 51 Castlevania tunes and 12 remixed in the Dead Cells style will be implemented. This is also stated to be the biggest piece of added content for the title.

Dead Cells is an action roguelike where players enter various Biomes to defeat mobs of enemies. Many boss encounters will put the player’s skills to the test. It is currently available on many platforms, including Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox, iOS, Android, and PC via Microsoft Windows and Steam.

The game has sold over ten million units worldwide.
