Unicorn Overlord director Takafumi Noma is leading development on DAWNGAZER, a new action RPG planned for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam in 2028.
The game is the first title based on IGNISPHERE, a new IP created through a partnership between Monochrome and Good Smile Company.
Noma created IGNISPHERE and directed DAWNGAZER. Monochrome handles development under IGNISPHERE Studio, while Good Smile Company handles publishing and promotion.
IGNISPHERE refers to the fictional setting and the studio led by Noma. The setting consists of numerous nations and races, and the companies plan to develop it across games and other forms of media.
Noma previously worked as a programmer on numerous games and served as director of Unicorn Overlord. His involvement in that project extended to its story and character design alongside other areas of development.
Yoshimi Kudo is composing music for the game after previously contributing to Unicorn Overlord and Elden Ring. The teaser features music composed and arranged by Kudo, with vocals performed by KOCHO, SAK., and Maki Takimoto. Wataru Mukai performs cello.
The companies also plan to expand IGNISPHERE beyond gaming. Good Smile Company will handle merchandising opportunities, including figures. Multiple light novel projects based on the IP are also in development with Kadokawa’s Fujimi Fantasia Bunko imprint.
