Romance Visual Novel ‘Date A Live: Rio Reincarnation’ Introduces Rinne in New Screenshots

Idea Factory International released new details for their romance visual novel Date A Live: Rio Reincarnation, which was recently delayed from its scheduled June 18 release date to July 23 in North America and July 26 in Europe on PlayStation 4 and July 23 worldwide on PC-via Steam.

The details revolve around Rinne Sonogami, who is introduced in Rinne Utopia, the first installment of Date A Live, which was first released on PlayStation 3. During Rinne Utopia, a mysterious barrier has suddenly surrounded Tengu City and the Spirits begin growing unstable. Rinne then appears in front of Shido as a childhood friend, but she’s a little too perfect. Shido must solve the mysteries of the new barrier and save the spirits before they bring destruction to the city.

Date A Live: Rio Reincarnation adds a brand new character, Rio, to the game. Evidentally, she just shows up and calls Shido “Papa” and is searching for the “most important thing.” Now, I know those who have never heard of this series are left in the dark about all this, but thankfully the Rio Reincarnation version of the game includes both Rinne Utopia and Arusu Install, which were released on PlayStation 3, to catch you up.

Each visual novel is around 40 hours long and allows the player to spend time with the 11 different characters and choose from over 150 dating events. Throughout the story, players will make choices that affect each girl’s feelings for the player and how they interact with him. Illustrations in the game have also been given some life as the characters react to your conversations and move their mouths.

The PS4 version of the game will have 2 modified CG images, while the PC release will have all original CGs.
