THQ Nordic released a new trailer for the Airship Syndicate-developed action game Darksiders Genesis, coming to PC on December 5, and PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on February 14.
The trailer shows off the “Creature Core” system which allows players to upgrade and customize their horseman’s battles skills. Players will begin their journey with a variety of different abilities, but this new system adds a layer of customization and is acquired after defeating groups of enemies and bosses. Players can also purchase them at Vulgrim’s story in exchange for souls.
Creature Core has players shift the gameplay balance between the different playstyles, War and Strife. During gameplay, players will need to choose how they wish to use these items. Increasing strength or adding lava to a dash is just an example of what players are able to do.
Darksiders Genesis follows the adventures of the fourth and final horsemen, Strife, who fights alongside his brother, War. The game focuses heavily on 2-player co-op gameplay where players will take on the demon-slaying action together. Solo players are able to alternate between both characters to utilize both ranged and melee attacks. The game features a new story campaign that takes place before the original Darksiders and explores the origin of the Seven Seals.
