Red Hook Studios has announced that its turn-based RPG Darkest Dungeon II will be released on July 15, 2024, for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. The Binding Blade DLC and Oblivion bundle will be available for cross-buy on both platforms.
Tyler Sigman, Design Director for Red Hook Studios, stated the following regarding this news:
“We have been very eager to bring Darkest Dungeon II to PlayStation players. The game feels great with DualSense Controller–we’ve been able to add touches like feeling the heartbeat of a hero on death’s door, or the rumble of the stagecoach’s wheels as it hits a trap. Darkest Dungeon I was fortunate to find a strong community on PlayStation and we hope the same proves true with the sequel.”
Darkest Dungeon II and the Oblivion Bundle will be available for pre-order on April 18th, 2024. The game is currently available on PC.
Darkest Dungeon II has received upgrades and expanded the concept with striking 3D visuals and a new run-based road trip structure that streamlines the experience without sacrificing the complexity of its systems. The game’s 1.0 version was launched in May 2023, featuring the hardcore progression systems the first entry was known for.
Fice campaigns, the Confessions, are available, each boasting bosses with unique mechanics. The new Crusader and Duelist heroes are also available, making a total of 14 playable heroes. Other notable features are the ten companion pets and optional thematic difficulty modifiers in the form of the Radiant and Infernal Flame items.
