Bandai Namco released a new developer diary series for the Supermassive Games developed narrative-horror title The Dark Pictures – Man of Medan, coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC-via Steam in 2019.
Titled “A Watery Grave”, the developer diary explores a behind the scenes look at the creation of motion and sound to immerse players in the game’s world. The team strived to create as detailed a world as possible by accurately creating the movement animation that corresponds with the characters as they move on the boat and recording actual audio sounds of a boat traveling at speed and crashing into waves. The game will focus on realism to take players to the game’s world and hopefully scare the crap out of them.
During the game, players will make decisions that they have to live with. Some of these choices can cause characters to die and thus altering the game’s narrative. This is similar to the developer’s previous title Until Dawn, which was a huge success in terms of story design and gameplay. The game follows the story of 5 stowaways who embarked on a journey in a stormy sea.
