Non-Linear RPG ‘Dark Envoy’ Revealed in First Trailer

Event Horizon announced that their newest game will be Dark Envoy, a tactical RPG in development for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC-via Steam, set to launch in 2020.

Dark Envoy offers free world exploration where players will need to master the game’s tactical combat in order to get passed enemy encounters. Players will explore the world using a Skyship as the base of operations. Through explorations, they will discover new locations and find their way through numerous procedurally generated dungeons. However, choices must be made wisely as the map adjusts with the passing of in-game time. Meaning, dungeons can become more challenging to get through.

Dark Envoy features a non-linear RPG combat system that plays out in real-time. Players’ choices will impact the world around them that can be saved or destroyed, which will lead them to multiple endings. There are 15 character classes to discover, each of which can be customized and have their own skill tree. The game can also be played with a friend in its 2-player co-op mode, along with a new mode called Player vs World where players 2 acts as the final boss seeking to destroy Player 1.

Dark Envoy will be appearing at this year’s Gamescom 2019.
