Dark Adventure ‘Witch Strandings’ Announced for PC via Live Action Trailer
During today’s Guerrellia Collective, publisher Modern Wolf and developer Strange Scaffold announced the visceral horror title Witch Strandings. This cursor-driven experience highlights the importance of connection, nurturing, transportation and physicality.
This title boasts the following key features:
- Nurture vs. Decay: It is the player’s duty to care for the forest and its inhabitants, returning the environment to its more harmonious state, before the corruption of the witch spread.
- Physicality: Played entirely with a mouse, a new control scheme to be celebrated – it’s all about building a connection between the player and the in-game world.
- Transportation and Connection: Players will link old ruins, traverse hazardous swamps, and attend to people’s needs – building connections both literal and metaphorical.
- Subversive Narrative: if we spoil it, it won’t be that subversive, will it?
The game’s designer, Xalavier Nelson Jr, shared the following statement regarding this project:
Witch Strandings is a psychic nightmare about being presented with a truly cursed place–and finding the spirit to make it a good one. Bringing something this weird and compelling to life required a partner who understood our vision, and a truly unique take on what a game trailer could be–and in both cases, Modern Wolf delivered.
Witch Strandings is releasing for PC via Steam for $14.99 later this year.
