Arc System Works has dropped the opening movie for Daedalus: The Awakening of Golden Jazz, the upcoming prequel in the long-running Jake Hunter Detective Series (known in Japan as Tantei Jingūji Saburō).
This entry in the mystery adventure series stars a younger Jake Hunter as he travels to New York after being informed that his grandfather has been murdered. Upon collecting his grandfather’s things, Jake finds out that he was looking into something called the ‘Daedalus’, beginning the young man’s investigation into the mysteries of his grandfather’s death.
You can watch the opening movie below. The previously revealed teaser trailer can be found here or you can read our review of the last released entry in the franchise Jake Hunter Detective Stories: Ghost of the Dusk.
Daedalus: The Awakening of Golden Jazz arrives on PC, Switch and PlayStation 4 in Japan on the 13th of December. There is currently no word on an English release. We’ll let you know when that changes.
Author’s Take: As the game gets closer to release I keep realizing I ‘ll need to catch up on the series. This likely won’t be coming out in English for quite a while giving me some time to do just that. Won’t stop me from shilling this to the high heavens for a translation. I love detective games to pieces. Oh, whilst you’re here, toss me some recommendations on Twitter, I’d really appreciate it.
