CD Projekt Red announced their plans as they gear up to appear at gamescom 2019 to show off their upcoming game, Cyberpunk 2077.
During the show, fans will be able to head over to the developer’s booth, located in Hall 6, Stand C049, to watch members of the staff show off live gameplay of the action RPG. These presentations will take place on Wednesday, August 21 through August 24. Additionally, the studio has plans to host some behind-closed-doors gameplay to members of the media on August 20 and August 22. This will most likely be extended gameplay and details, so expect previews and features surrounding the game from attending media.
Additionally, the developer is hosting the first offline qualifier for the official Cyberpunk 2077 Cosplay Contest. Taking place on August 23, participants will show off their cosplay for a chance to receive a $2,000 price, along with Cyberpunk 2077 merchandise, and a spot in the Grand Finale which has a $30,000 prize pool.
Cyberpunk 2077 is set in the future and is played in the first person where players can explore the world and take on missions, seemingly creating their own story in this new world. The game will feature multiple upgradable skills and abilities as well as the possibility of upgrading individual character classes. This is a huge game for the developer as a followup to the wildly popular 1988 tabletop game Cyberpunk 2020.
