PC Engine Action Game ‘Cyber Citizen Shockman’ Finally Comes West Later This Month

Ratalaika Games announced that they will publish the Shinyuden-developed action game Cyber Citizen Shockman for a Western release on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch on May 19, 2023, for $5.99.

Cyber Citizen Shockman was initially released on PC Engine. “Cyber Citizen Shockman marks the beginning of the release of the entire Shockman titles that will be presented to retro game fans over the year for the first time which will be available for home consoles (except Shockman 2), which is the only one that was ever officially released.”

Cyber Citizen Shockman tells the story of two Japanese school kids named Tasuke and Kyapiko, who are androids built by a mad scientist known only as Doc, who built Tasuke and Kyapiko with the ability to morph into armored superheroes known as Shockman. Their current goal is fighting against Dark Skull and his goons Skull Force who are trying to take over the world.

During gameplay, players will hack and slash their way through 18 stages. This version of the game has an added image gallery from hand-made scans, a rewind and fast-forward option, new English translations with the original Japanese text, save states, and a CRT filter.
