Modus Games released new details for the Dreams Uncorporated and SYCK developed classic RPG Cris Tales coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC-via Steam in 2020.
From what we’ve known of the Cris Tales journey so far, players assume the role of Crisbell and meet a few members of her team in a town called Narim. While this is shown in the demo that is currently available, the conclusion happened when the party was on their way to a new city to investigate where the assault on their hometown came from. Well, that town is Saint Clarity.
The developer describes Saint Clarity as divided into two areas, lower slums, and noble district. Exploring both will show two different sides of the city. There will be a handful of new characters to meet in the city as well as areas to explore using time magic, where players can reveal the past present and future.
Additionally, the developer revealed a new battle mechanic. When new character, Willhelm, joins the party he’ll be able to sync his abilities with Crisbell’s. Using his Yukadragoras, he’ll throw them at individual enemies to enact various status effects or just damage.
Cris Tales features hand-drawn 2D animations, which bring the world of the game to life with a handful of choices to be made that will alter the present and future of the game. Players can also dive into the game’s innovative combat that features a stylish turn-based style battle system where players can execute actions. The developer also added that the game will take around 20 hours to complete.
