Indie Visual Novel ‘Crime Opera: The Butterfly Effect’ Comes to Xbox One, Series X, and Switch Next Week
EastAsiaSoft announced that Crime Opera Studios and Ratalaika Games-developed visual novel adventure, Crime Opera: The Butterfly Effect, will launch on Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch on April 28, 2021, for $9.99.
Crime Opera is a story that follows six characters when they are children and focuses on their introduction into the Mafia world. The lives of these characters change after a few deaths and alternative motives. Players get to see this world through the eyes of the characters and follow them throughout their life.
The game was previously banned on Steam with little warning and has since been denied the option to get back on the platform. Valve responded to the developer, saying, “We aren’t interested in having this game on Steam. Re-submissions of banned games, even with modifications, will not be accepted.”
Now, the game seems to have found a new home on consoles but is missing the PlayStation platform. At this time, we are unsure if the game will release on PlayStation, but we’re thinking the Switch is a good home for it.
We’ll be sure to keep you updated on other visual novel releases in the west.
