Endless Runner ‘Crayon Shinchan The Storm Called! Flaming Kasukabe Runner!!’ Released on Switch in the West

Bushiroad announced that the OperaHouse Corporation-developed endless runner Crayon Shinchan The Storm Called! Flaming Kasukabe Runner!! was released on the Nintendo Switch eShop in the west.

Kasukabe Runner is an endless runner that launched on smartphones in Japan in 2014 and has since received over 8 million downloads. Players will take control over characters and dodge various obstacles while collecting sweets throughout the level. The controls are kept simple and require the players only tap the screen in handheld mode and a control button in docked mode.

The game stars Shinnosuke, who is a five-year-old with a big imagination and lots of energy. He’s tasked with collecting sweets and Golden Balls in order to proceed to the next stage. The game also offers special missions, which unlock unique cosplay outfits for Shinchan and his friends to wear during gameplay. Those who have seen the anime will recognize many of the cast in the game.

A unique feature for this version of the game is a stage selection feature that allows players to select the stage they wish to play through as opposed to the smartphone version of the game. Stages are marked as Normal and Movie stages and each milestone unlocks a new element of the title.
