Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time Early Launch Trailer Highlights Characters and Gameplay Modes
Activation released the launch trailer for the Toys for Bob-developed adventure-platformer Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on October 2.
The trailer highlights many of the game’s levels but focuses on the various characters that players will be able to play during this new adventure. Each character will have a unique ability they can use to access various areas of a level or to take out enemies. Additionally, there are various visual modes that players can choose from to change the graphics style with filters.
Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is not a remastered game of any entries in the series, this is a brand new Crash adventure. The developer is revealing their take on the art style of Crash to reintroduce players to the over-the-top personality of the character. The game’s story picks up after New Cortex, Dr. N. Tropy, and Uka Uka have been stranded on a distant planet for decades. The villainous group finally make it back, but end up ripping the space-time continuum in the process.
During gameplay, players will uncover four Quantum Masks, who are the guardians of space and time. These masks will grant Crash the ability to bend the rules of time and access to areas. The first masks to be revealed are the Time Mast, which slows everything down, and the Gravity Mast, which allows Crash to platform upside down.
