Following the latest patch for Xenoblade Chronicles 3, players immediately went to test if the Cooking mechanic was made to work as intended, and it now does!
For those unaware, a bug identified by fans soon after the game’s launch revealed that Cooking done with companion Nopon Manana did not work as intended. There were various conflicting reports, ranging from Cooking not working at all to it sometimes working, so at best, it was incredibly inconsistent.
However, this latest patch has fixed this bug. So, we ran brief tests to be certain:
We performed two tests against an end-game overworld enemy at LV 68. Everyone in the party was at LV 86. Accessories were unchanged.
For this test, we used two food items and compared the game’s EXP displays. (i.e. what it displays once the enemy’s dead)
Food item used: Manana’s Battle Soup DX
Effect: EXP Boost +15%
Without the soup: 155 EXP
With the soup: 178 EXP
155 + 15% = 178.25
Food item used: Ritzy-Glitzy Saucy Vizzard
Effect: EXP Boost +30%
Without the item: 155 EXP
With the item: 202 EXP
155 + 30% = 201.5
The value is also rounded to the nearest whole number.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 tells the story of protagonists Noah and Mio contending with a conflict between the nations of Keves and Agnus. 6 characters will be the crux of the experience, and the broad concept of “life” will be the title’s central theme.
The narrative ties in elements and plotlines from the future of the prior two mainline games, Xenoblade Chronicles and Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Flutes seem to play an integral role in this title’s premise.
The summoning of this powerful new form depends on a new Interlink system. If specific conditions are met, characters can combine into this mech, and choosing well when to transform should be key to the more difficult battles. Another system revealed is a class change option, allowing players to customize their parties’ builds further than in previous games.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is now available for Nintendo Switch.
