Control Debuts AWE Gameplay Footage; Touches on Abilities and Alan Wake Universe
505 Games showcased gameplay from the Remedy-developed action-adventure Control AWE DLC, coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on August 27.
The gameplay highlights the connection between Control and Remedy’s other IP Alan Wake. Further, the gameplay contains several nods to the mysteries that players will uncover throughout the story expansion. I’m sure fans are eagerly looking through the gameplay to find secrets.
Also, Control recently revealed that Control will be release as Control Ultimate Edition on August 27, the same day as the DLC. Those who purchase this version of the game will receive a free upgrade to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. However, those who already own the game will not receive that same upgrade, which is disappointing.
Control Ultimate Edition will launch for $39.99 digitally at first, with a physical version planned for later in 2020 with next-gen consoles receiving a physical release in 2021. Control Ultimate Edition will also release on PC via the Epic Games Store.
Control AWE is the newest story expansion for Control, following the recent Foundation expansion. Players will need to beat the base game in order to play the additional story, but they won’t need to complete the Foundation.
We’ll be sure to keep you updated on the Control related news in the future.
