Contra Returns Opens Pre-Registration For Worldwide Release

Konami and TiMi Studio Group have announced the worldwide release of Contra Returns. Originally released in China in 2017 and Southeastern Asian territories in 2018, the game will be released in North America on July 26. It’s currently in pre-registration for Android and iOS systems.

Contra Returns is a free-to-play iteration of the classic run and gun franchise. It offers over 200 levels, equipment upgrades and customization. Besides a singleplayer campaign and playing co-op with another person, players can also engage on pvp modes that include 1v1 and 3v3 battles.

Playable characters include Bill Rizer,Lance Bean, Pulse Williams, Sheena, Snow Bear, Catelyn, Fang and Lucia Zero. A variety of weapons including cannons, machine guns and sniper rifles may also be obtained.

The pre-registration will include a variety of bonuses depending on how well the campaign does. For more than 500 thousand people, a 11-Star Spread Gun (Green) will be given along with 5,000 gold. These benefits grow up to the 8 million mark, when those who participate in the campaign will get a 1-Day Hummingbird Trial Card as well as 100 Nano Controllers plus everything else.

The companies have also shared a trailer for Contra Returns. Though it runs for 1 minute and 30 seconds, only around 10 seconds of the video shows actual gameplay. Check the trailer out below:
