Concept Persona 3 Sketch Depicts Party Member Koromaru As Dalmatian Instead of Shiba Inu

During the Persona 25th Anniversary FES event in Japan, over 80 illustrations from series character designer Shigenori Soejima were publically showcased for the first time. Of the perceived illustrations, the official Persona Japan Twitter account shared concept artwork of Koromaru, a dog party member from Persona 3, who was initially envisioned as a Dalmatian. However, his finalized design ended up being a Shiba Inu, and he has become an iconic mascot since.

Due to how long I’ve known Koromaru’s character, it’s bizarre to see him as a different dog breed. Still, it’s always cool to get a peek at unused designs for any media.

In case you missed it, check out our review for Persona 4 Arena Ultimax.

This title takes place after the ending of the original Persona 4, featuring elements from Persona 4 Golden, such as the character Marie. This game is a 2D fighter developed by Arc System Works, most prominently known for Blazblue and the recently released Guilty Gear Strive.

This re-release includes all of the content contained in the original Ultimax release and the story of the first Arena game. Further, Japanese and English dual audio options are present. Also notable is that this release supervisor rollback netcode on all platforms except for Nintendo Switch.
