Composer Nobuo Uematsu Details the Making of the New Final Fantasy VII Remake Ending Theme
Square Enix released a new video detailing the making up the new ending them of Final Fantasy VII Remake, which was shown in the game’s brand new trailer.
In a collaboration between Final Fantasy series composer Nobuo Uematsu and singer Yosh, came a track titled Hollow. Uematsu-san wanted the theme to be loose and wanted the Yosh to not feel the need to stick to the score as he sang. This would make the theme fit the outlaw theme that he was aiming for.
The image in his head that he has when thinking of the score is, “There’s rain pouring over a barren, empty place. And Cloud is standing there.” This reflects the mood of Cloud throughout much of the adventure as he is this lone wolf soldier who found a group of people that just won’t give up on him, so he won’t give up on them.
Final Fantasy VII Remake will tell the story of a corrupted world fallen under the control of the Shinra Electric Power Company, a shadowy corporation controlling the planet’s very life force as Mako Energy.
In the sprawling city of Midgar, an anti-Shinra organization calling themselves Avalanche have stepped up their resistance. Cloud Strife, a former member of Shinra’s elite SOLDIER unit now turned mercenary, lends his aid to the group, and throughout the story, goes on epic adventures with an unforgettable cast of characters.
