Square Enix announced they will release a new nostalgic collection of classic titles on Nintendo Switch. The developer revealed that Collection of SaGa Final Fantasy Legend will launch on Nintendo Switch on December 15, digital-only on the Nintendo eShop.
Collection of SaGa Final Fantasy Legend includes the first three titles of the SaGa series, The Final Fantasy Legend, Final Fantasy Legend II, and Final Fantasy Legend III. Each game was created by Akitoshi Kawazu and initially released on Game Boy beginning in 1989. The SaGa series used the Final Fantasy Legend title in hopes of being more popular in the west.
Collection of SaGa Final Fantasy Legend also includes some enhancements including a character speed boost, adjustable screen magnification, authentic Game Boy display mode, and new music and illustrations.
Additionally, players will find a special anniversary song, 8 different in-game wallpapers, and the option to play using Japanese or English text. Given that the game was released on the Game Boy players can also detach the Joy-Con and hold the screen vertically to take advantage of the touch screen buttons to replicate the retro handheld.
Each game holds a special place in the heart’s of RPG fans and is a great introduction to the SaGa series, which Square Enix has really been pushing in the west lately.
