Collection of SaGa Final Fantasy Legend Shows Gameplay and New Features in Debut Trailer

Square Enix released a new trailer for their retro-RPG Collection of SaGa Final Fantasy Legend coming to Nintendo Switch on December 15, digital-only on the Nintendo eShop.

The trailer focuses on the game’s enhanced features, which include speed boosts and a customizable display mode. The boost is perhaps something gamers will appreciate considering the game came out 30 years ago, and we used to play games a little slower back then.

Collection of SaGa Final Fantasy Legend includes the first three titles of the SaGa series, The Final Fantasy Legend, Final Fantasy Legend II, and Final Fantasy Legend III. Each game was created by Akitoshi Kawazu and initially released on Game Boy beginning in 1989. The SaGa series used the Final Fantasy Legend title in hopes of being more popular in the west.

Additionally, players will find a special anniversary song, 8 different in-game wallpapers, and the option to play using Japanese or English text. Given that the game was released on the Game Boy players can also detach the Joy-Con and hold the screen vertically to take advantage of the touch screen buttons to replicate the retro handheld.

Each game holds a special place in the hearts of RPG fans and is a great introduction to the SaGa series, which Square Enix has really been pushing in the west lately.
