Code Vein Shows Battle Against “Successor of the Ribcage” in New Video

Bandai Namco launched a new trailer for their dungeon crawling RPG Code Vein, coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC-via Steam on September 27.

The trailer introduces a new boss enemy known as the Successor of the Ribcage…I didn’t name it! Anyway, the short video shows the enemy’s attacks that players will need to learn to avoid if they hope to survive the fight, which the player in the trailer does not.

Code Vein is an action adventure game where players will be able to craft their own weapons and customize their experience by fine-tuning their character’s playstyle during the game’s dark and gritty narrative. We had the chance to play through the during the recent Network Test and saw that it definitely borrows some elements of Dark Souls, but it does enough to make itself stand out in the genre. The game focuses heavily on character growth and weapon customization as the player searches for Blood Beads in a post-apocalyptic world.

There’s also a partner that joins the player’s journey, but that doesn’t stop the game from being fairly difficult, which is something that fans seem to enjoy. The game also has a pretty interesting story that is revealed throughout exploration as well as an online co-op mode.
