Code Shifter Features a Huge Roster of Crossover Characters and It’s Coming West
Arc System Works announced that their action platformer Code Shifter is coming to PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC-via Steam in Q1 2020 in the west.
Code Shifter has players assume the role of Stella, a game developer tasked with finding bugs hidden in the code of a game that is about to launch. Pretty meta, huh. Suddenly, mysterious errors in the program begin to appear and to deal with it she creates a program known as Code Shifter. This allows her to send her digital avatar Sera into the game and fix the problems from within.
During gameplay, Sera is able to transform into Arc System Works character from across a variety of titles including, Guilty Gear, BlazBlue, and the River City. There are over 100 characters to be discovered in the game and each has a unique way of fighting and style. Defeating bosses will award Sera with new equipment and costumes that add even more variety to the game.
Additional modes include Colorful Fighter, a mini-game where 4 players can fight it out in a free-for-all.
While we don’t have an official western trailer, the Japanese trailer for Code Shifter recently launched to give you a preview of what to expect.
