Clockwork Aquario Reveals Gameplay in Teaser Trailer; It Isn’t Much, But We’re Still Excited

Strictly Limited Games and ININ Games have released a teaser trailer for Clockwork Aquario in development for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch, with other platforms to be announced.

Currently, the title has a release window schedule for Q2 2021, but the team has shared a quick glimpse at gameplay. The teaser trailer isn’t really much to go off of because the scenes are so fast, but that doesn’t mean we are excited about this game.

Clockwork Aquario was initially supposed to release in Arcades in 1992 and was being developed by Westone, known for creating the Wonder Boy series. The game would push the SEGA System 18 arcade hardware to its limits with its 2D graphic engine. However, fighting and 3D games were dominating arcades at the time, which led to the game being shelved.

Strictly Limited Games is hosting a few different limited editions for the game, including:

  • The Limited Edition for PS4 is available for 29,99€. (Switch is already sold out.)
  • The Collector’s Edition is priced at 69,99€ and includes amongst others an Acrylic Diorama, 2 soundtracks (original & remix), an Arcade Coin (100-yen-style), and character cards.
  • The Ultra Collector’s Edition is available for 129,99€ and includes everything from the CE and even more cool items like a beautiful 18cm figurine of Elle, Huck, and Gush, and a Shikishi.
