Cry Your Eyes Out Visual Novel ‘Clannad’ Gets Western Release Date on Switch

Key and Prototype announced that the heartfelt visual novel Clannad will release in North America digitally via the Nintendo Switch eShop on July 4 for $44.99.

This version of the game will mirror the Japanese release of the title and include its features as well such as being able to switch between English and Japanese text. Additionally, all music and selected vocal tracks are available in Linear PCM 5.1ch surround Sound-compatible AV amplifier system to give you that emotional experience you’ve been looking for.

Clannad first released in 2004 on PC and has since received side stories as well as updated content as it released on various other consoles, including PlayStation 4. The visual novel tells the story of love, family, and the ties that bind us all together. Players will go on an emotional journey with the cast of characters and learn more about them over as well as uncover the mysteries of an illusionary world. Without giving away too much, the main themes of the game come to a head in the second half as players realize just how much their friends and family mean to them.

Clannad is also available digitally on PlayStation 4 and PC-via Steam. The game has a physical release in Japan which also have English subtitles that you can pick up from Play Asia.
