Emotional Visual Novel ‘Clannad’ Gets Physical Release on Switch in The West

Sekai Games confirmed that the Key-developed visual novel, Clannad, will receive a physical release in the west on Nintendo Switch through Limited Run Games.

Pre-orders open on April 14 for players to secure their copy of the release. There will be a collector’s edition available, which includes a guidebook and soundtrack along with a copy of the game. The team has recreated the first-print Japanese Collector’s Edition 1:1, making it available in the west for the first time in English. The pre-order for the game will be available for 6 weeks starting April 14.

Clannad first released in 2004 on PC and has since received side stories as well as updated content as it released on various other consoles, including PlayStation 4. The visual novel tells the story of love, family, and the ties that bind us all together. Players will go on an emotional journey with the cast of characters and learn more about them over as well as uncover the mysteries of an illusionary world. Without giving away too much, the main themes of the game come to a head in the second half as players realize just how much their friends and family mean to them.

Clannad is also available digitally on PlayStation 4 and PC-via Steam.
