Shueisha Games and developer DeskWorks! have delayed the exploration-based action-adventure game Chronoscript: The Endless End from its previously planned fall 2026 release window to early summer 2027 for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam.
According to director Tom Fujii, players can currently play the main game from beginning to end. The development team will use the additional time to refine the game and address feedback gathered from players who tried the demo.
Several changes are being made to character controls and combat. Attack recovery is being shortened, while input buffering is being adjusted to improve responsiveness. Characters will also have greater movement during attacks, faster healing, and revised sliding behavior when turning.
DeskWorks! is also working on readability. Text and character visibility are being improved, while menus are receiving design adjustments. The team is also planning additional gameplay and usability changes as development continues.
In Chronoscript, you control Frederick G. Muller, an editor summoned to a secluded manor by the author Viola S. Chambers, a vampire who has spent a millennium writing an endless story. However, Frederick becomes trapped inside her manuscript and must navigate its worlds to complete the tale.
The title comprises dynamic ink-traversing moves, exploration abilities, and combat against enemies known as The Ruined.
Chronoscript also showcases detailed hand-drawn artwork for characters, enemies, and backgrounds, brought to life with frame-by-frame animation. The new Prologue trailer introduces the protagonist, the Vampire Mistress, and a stage set in Ancient Egypt.
