Sabotage announced their newest title, Sea of Stars, a turn-based RPG set in the universe of The Messanger, will have music composed by Chrono Trigger composer Yasunori Mitsuda.
Mitsuda has been known for his work on other beloved RPGs, including Xenogears and Shadow Hearts, and he will now lend his talents to this project. This will be a collaboration with Sea of Stars’ composer Eric W. Brown, who previously worked on The Messenger.
Sea of Stars stars Valere and Zale, two characters who share the same fate of becoming Solstice Warriors. Each shares the power of the Sun and Moon to perform what is known as Eclipse Magic to fight against an evil alchemist known as The Fleshmancer.
Combat in Sea of Stars has players take control of six-party members in turn-based RPG systems. The game also removes level grinding as character skills are unlocked through game progression and not tied to how many fights are taken on. Still, when battles take place, players must use their tactical skills to make it out and pre-emptively counter powerful enemy attacks.
Sea of Stars is in development for PC-via Steam and consoles for a 2022 launch.
