Chrono Cross Ultimania Receiving Digital Release Next Week

The official Japan PR Twitter account for the soon-to-be-released Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition has announced that the original Chrono Cross Ultimania will be receiving a digital release across several currently unspecific e-book stores next week on April 7, 2022. It is safe to assume that it will at least releasing on the Square Enix E-Store, and we will update this article accordingly when store links become available.

For those who aren’t aware, Ultimanias are essentially guidebooks containing intricate information on game stats such as equipment, maps, combat tips, and more supplementary details like developer interviews and conceptual artwork. The Kingdom Hearts franchise is most well-known for receiving these Ultimania book releases, with the first Western publishing of one having occurred last year. Additionally, Final Fantasy VII Remake received an Ultimania, also released in the West last year.

Chrono Cross follows Serge, who has just entered another world where he learns about the connection between his existence and the future of his planet. The game transcends time as players head out on an adventure friendship while meeting a massive cast of over 40 potential party members.

Chrono Cross was never released in Europe but now will arrive as a remastered release. This version of the game includes refined illustrations for the original character designer, Nobuteru Yuuki, remastered music from acclaimed composer Yasunori Mitsuda, and a variety of additional features.

Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition will launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam on April 7, 2022.
