Point-and-Click Adventure ‘Children of Silentown’ Gets January Release Date in “Making Of” Video

Daedalic Entertainment announced that the Elf Games-developed point-and-click adventure, Children of Silentown, will launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam on January 11, 2023.

Children of Silentown was first created as an animated short as a collaboration between Elf Games and Luna2. The developer put together a new Making Of video that highlight’s the game’s development and how it came together. Further, the video provides a look at some of the more interesting gameplay mechanics.

The entire game was created by a small group of people who created this in their off-hours from their full-time jobs in software development and full-time content creation on YouTube. The passion this team exudes is infectious, poured into the project slowly but steadily over the years.

Children of Silentown follows the main protagonist, Lucy, a young girl growing up in a monster-filled forest. Evidently, she must learn to use her voice, and it’s up to the players to solve some puzzles that help her do just that. Play minigames, solve puzzles, and collect clues amid atmospheric music and an eerie yet endearing hand-drawn art style. Songs specifically play a paramount role. Depending on how many you’re able to learn, you can find yourself at one of the multiple endings.

There’s a free demo of the prologue available now on Steam.
