Chained Echoes DLC Ashes of Elrant Launches August 7 with 40+ New Enemies, Music, and Story Content

Chained Echoes developer Matthias Linda’s newly founded studio, Umami Tiger, and publisher Deck13 have announced that the highly anticipated DLC for the game, Ashes of Elrant, will be released on PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and PlayStation on August 7, 2025.

Players can anticipate over 40 new monsters and bosses, 15 new tracks by Eddie Marianukroh, a fishing minigame, and more. The DLC takes players to a new land away from Valandia, set right before the base game’s final boss battle.

The Clan of Crimson Wings answers a call for help from the land of Elrant, embarking on a journey that will shed more light on the background plot of Valandis, its characters, and their motivations. Furthermore, the White Wolf, a “really special” individual with a history with Valandis, will join the cast.

Chained Echoes was developed for over seven years. With its 16-bit presentation, the game borrows many elements from past SNES RPGs. Players follow a group of heroes tasked with exploring the continent of Valandis to bring an end to the war between its three kingdoms. They will meet other characters throughout the adventure to add to the party and uncover a 30 – 40-hour story.

Regarding gameplay, levels are not traditionally earned through combat. Instead, bosses and significant tasks grant shards that enable the cast to learn various skills. On the other hand, winning battles provides SP that can be used to empower already acquired skills. Moreover, all health and magic are fully replenished after each battle, and the combat design takes advantage of that, requiring players to pour their all into every encounter.

Chained Echoes is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Game Pass, and PC via Steam and GOG.
