Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls on Apple Arcade Will Not Have Any Ads or In-App Purchases

Konami announced that they will soon release the delisted iOS adventure Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls on Apple Arcade.

Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls was initially released in 2018 and was delisted in late 2019. Until now, not much more has been shared about the game, but it seems like Konami wants a second attempt at making it cool again.

This version of the game will not feature any ads or in-app purchases, but it does require players have a subscription to the Apple Arcade service. A subscription to the service costs $4.95 a month.

The game borrows a lot of inspiration from classic entries in the series by featuring a 2D art style and the return of characters, including Alucard and Simon. The game will be exclusive to Apple Arcade at launch and features character designs from Ayami Kojima and music by Michiru Yamane. In addition, the game tells an original story within the universe as well through 60 levels.

Players can customize their experience with equipment and upgrades as they take part in daily and weekly missions. We aren’t sure if monetization will find its way into the game, considering it’s an Apple Arcade release. Players can unlock new characters throughout the game as they begin as Alucard and unlock other characters such as Simon Belmont, Charlotte, Shanoa, and Maria. The publisher has confirmed that more characters are coming.

A release date has not been announced at this time.
