Monster-Collecting RPG ‘Cassette Beasts’ Gets April Release Date in New Gameplay Trailer; Available Day-One on PC Game Pass
Raw Fury announced that the Bytten Studio-developed monster-collecting RPG Cassette Beasts will launch on PC via Steam and Windows on April 26, 2023. The game will also be available on PC Game Pass at launch.
The game will later launch on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and as part of Xbox Game Pass.
Cassette Beasts is a monster-collecting RPG where players can explore the island of New Wirral. Here, people use cassette tapes to transform into creatures and fight. Through gameplay, you’ll go around recording various monsters to a cassette tape and gain their abilities in an attempt to find a way home.
There are over 100 monsters to collect and transform into. The game features a turn-based battle system with the option to combine two creatures together to create new, more powerful ones which share elemental types, stats, and move sets.
The game features an open world where players will need to solve a few puzzles and utilize monster abilities to progress. The entire game features a synthy soundtrack to vibe to while you attempt you fight your way through the island.
Further, there’s a couch co-op option where players can play with a friend. This allows players to explore together and fight as a pair.
