Raw Fury and Bytten Studio have announced that their creature-collecting turn-based RPG Cassette Beasts 2002 will launch in March 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store.
Set in Nodnol, a location inspired by 2000s London, Cassette Beasts 2002 follows players as they investigate an occultist’s plot while encountering humans and monsters throughout the city. Players can record encountered creatures and transform into their forms during turn-based battles.
More than 250 beasts will be available, including evolutionary lines. The fusion system allows monster forms to be combined, resulting in more than 50,000 possible fused beasts with their own animations.
Combat incorporates offensive, support, and utility abilities alongside elemental advantages. Certain rogue monsters can also learn from the player’s combat techniques and later return with different challenges based on those encounters.
There will be 12 companions, each with individual quests, too. Players can befriend or romance these characters, and improving relationships with companions can produce stronger fused beast forms. Multiplayer features include cassette trading, cooperative random encounters, and 1v1 battles with power scaling.
