Inti Creates has announced that its roguelite card-battling RPG Card-en-Ciel will be released natively for Nintendo Switch 2 on January 29, 2026.
The Nintendo Switch 2 edition will boast higher framerates and resolution compared to the original Switch release, alongside seamless mouse controls.
Alongside this news, the team also announced an Expansion Pass, which will comprise a multi-stage DLC for all platforms. Besides the purchase bonus, the first major DLC will feature a new story dungeon, “Gal Guardians Servants of the Dark.” This upcoming content will provide new cards and a Muse to unlock.
Combat throughout Card-en-Ciel occurs on 3×6 grids, with players able to use their cards for attacks, movement, or special skills. Achieving victory in bouts will grant new usable cards for battle. Moreover, Card-en-Ciel has a full storyline with full English and Japanese voice options. All character cards are voiced in both languages, with over 300 cards.
Additionally, over ten different dungeons and Muse Cards will activate potential abilities with their songs mid-combat. Of these, at least 50 vocal tracks are featured. Using these Muse song abilities grants access to hidden card “glitches” and the opportunity to redirect enemy attacks toward foes, resulting in combos.
The narrative has Neon investigating why characters from various games are invading other virtual game worlds, with multiple endings based on the player’s choices.
Card-en-Ciel is available worldwide on PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
