Bandai Namco revealed that the Tamsoft-developed over-the-top soccer title, Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions, has sold over 700,000 units worldwide.
Producer Tsuzuki Katsuaki shared a video of what the team has planned for the game and also how they will approach further updates. Since its August 2020 launch, the game has steadily received new characters and scenarios, however, players have been requesting better online support. The producer addresses these concerns in the video and shares that plans are put in place now to improve online gameplay before new characters are released.
Further, a new patch is available, version 1.31, which adds some additional options for players during gameplay. You’re now able to forfeit an online match at the cost of points and adjust the matchmaking system.
Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions is based on the works of series creator, Yoichi Takahashi, and follows Tsubasa Ozora as he steps up as the leader of his soccer team and brings them to glory. The game introduces players to soccer with an anime twist as players are able to execute a variety of powerful offensive and defensive moves during matches against rival teams.
