Capcom Launches Mysterious Countdown Website; Ends Next Week

Publisher and developer Capcom have launched a countdown website that is currently set to conclude in 7 days and 13 hours. Unfortunately, there is no obvious imagery on the website that can hint at whatever this upcoming announcement might be. Regardless, it’s worth keeping in the back of your mind as it’s only a week away from ending. Check out the countdown website for yourself.

Speaking of Capcom, they announced that their latest Monster Hunter turn-based RPG, Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, has sold over 1,500,000 units worldwide. This sales amount likely accounts for both PC and Switch units. Congratulations to Capcom for this notable achievement. The title was announced to have reached a 1.3 million sales figure milestone in October 2021.

During this turn-based adventure, players will encounter Lilia and Reverto, who will return from the original Monster Hunter Stories. The duo is on a mission to capture your companion Razewing Ratha before it can awaken its destructive power foretold in the prophecy of the Wings of Ruin.

Hot on their heels are a group of Hunters and Riders who seek to capture Razewing Ratha for their own nefarious purposes. More details on how these returning characters interact with the previously revealed cast and the player’s journey to either save their friend or save the world will be revealed soon.

Unlike the mainline Monster Hunter games, which are action adventures centered on cooperative play, the Stories spinoffs are turn-based, single-player journeys. The latter also focuses on narratives far more, breathing more life and diversity into the approachability of the franchise.
