Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Prepares for Open Beta This Weekend With Details and New Trailer

Activision revealed the open beta details for the Infinity Ward developed first-person shooter Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on October 25.

The Beta will extend across two weekends beginning on September 12 through September 16. This will be exclusive for PlayStation 4 owners where those who have pre-ordered the game will gain access to the full beta, but those who have not will only be able to enter from September 14 through September 16.

The second beta begins on September 19 through September 23 and will be open for all PlayStation 4 players and Xbox One and PC players who have pre-ordered. However, Xbox One and PC owners who have not pre-order will only be able to enter on September 21 through September 23. This Open Beta will also include cross-play features.

The team has also outlined the information in a blog post.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is the newest entry in the Call of Duty series and aims to give players a dose of nostalgia with its strange naming convention. Still, the game includes a solo campaign as well as a focus on its weapon customization. This depth of customization extends to both main Loadout weapons.

Primary and Secondary weapons can be augmented to fit the way the player sees themselves heading into battle. However, each weapon allows up to five parts of customization until your available slots are filled. For example, with an Assault rifle, players can choose from the Muzzle, Lasers, Optic, Stock, Rear Grip, Magazine, Underbarrel, Barrel, or a Perk. So players will need to figure out what is most important to them during gameplay.
