Activision has confirmed that anyone who pre-orders Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 on any platform will receive access to the single-player campaign on October 16, one week before the full game launches on October 23, 2026. The announcement was accompanied by a new trailer highlighting the campaign mission “Losing Ground.”
The footage follows a South Korean infantry squad fighting through a collapsing frontline as North Korean forces continue their invasion. Soldiers move through trenches and damaged urban areas while tanks, artillery, and large groups of infantry push across the battlefield. The mission places the focus on regular troops caught in the middle of the conflict rather than the special forces operations usually associated with the Modern Warfare series.
“Losing Ground” also offers another look at the campaign’s Korean Peninsula setting. Infinity Ward previously revealed that the story follows Private Park, a young South Korean soldier experiencing combat for the first time, alongside Captain Price as he tracks a weapon capable of escalating the war beyond the region.
The campaign will also take players to several locations outside Korea, including New York, Paris, and Mumbai. These missions include urban combat, vehicle sequences, and SAS operations tied to the broader conflict.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 launches for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam, Battle.net, and Xbox PC on October 23, 2026. Pre-order customers will be able to begin the campaign on October 16.
