Call of Duty: Mobile, A Free-to-Play Mobile COD, Gets Release Date

Activision announced that the Tencent and Timi studio developed first-person mobile shooter, Call of Duty: Mobile, will launch on iOS and Android devices on October 1.

While playing Call of Duty: Mobile, players will be able to compete in Multiplayer matches that are meant to bring the feel of first-person combat found in the COD series, to your phone. The matches will be played on maps such as Nuketown, Crash, Hijacked and more others as players gain ranks to unlock various COD characters. Players are also able to edit their loadouts and customize their characters.

There is also a Battle Royale mode, where players will fight against 99 others to survive. The mode supports solo, co-op, and up to four-player teams. During this mode, players will be able to ride in various vehicles including ATV, helicopter, and tactical raft.

“We are delivering the definitive, first-person action experience on mobile with signature Call of Duty gameplay in the palms of your hands,” said Chris Plummer, VP, Mobile at Activision. “We are bringing together some of the best the franchise has to offer, including Modern Warfare maps like Crash and Crossfire, Black Ops maps like Nuketown and Hijacked, and many more, into one epic title. We’ve tested the game extensively in select territories and the feedback we’ve received has helped us refine the experience for October 1.”

To get a better idea of the game, the team launched a new trailer that quickly shows some of the maps and gameplay.
